Introduction of Computer Unit 

This Unit “Fundamentals of Computer” covers a foundational understanding of computer

hardware and software along with how to get the most value and impact from computer

technology. In this unit the history of computer is discussed so that students can understand

how computers have evolved from very simple calculating devices to the modern electronic

computing. It also provides material on application of computers in various fields to describe 

the role of computer in modern society and its impact on our daily life.

Computer is an electronic machine, Word "compute" comes from Latin Language which means counting & Calculations.A Computer performs arithmetic, logical, Mathematical operations. A Computer takes input from a user through input devices and gives result as on output devices. 

There are Four Major Parts of a computer:

1. CPU   (Central Processing Unit) 

2. LCD   (Liquid Crystal Display)

3. Keyboard (Panel of Keys)

4. Mouse (Pointing Device)
